.DISCUSSION...(This Evening Through Saturday) Issued at 146 PM MDT Sat Sep 6 2025

Current Water Vapor and upper air models show northwest flow over the FA, with upper ridge situated over the Rockies. Surface analysis depicts high pressure over the Dakotas. Winds are relatively light and variable across the region this afternoon, with clear skies and temperatures in the upper 60s and 70s. Cool conditions continue tonight, with lows expected in the upper 30s to mid 40s.

Upper ridge slides eastward over the northern and central planes the remainder of the weekend. This will result in a warming trend through monday, with highs climbing back into widespread 80s by Monday. Daytime mixing will result in breezy southeast winds Sunday afternoon, however gusts will only be in the 20 to 30 mph range. Expect mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies through middle of next week with dry conditions as ridge dominates the area. Temperatures turn more seasonal and chances for precipitation increase towards the end of next week, as upper low digs into the western CONUS, pushing the upper ridge east of the forecast area.
