.UPDATE... Issued at 138 AM CDT Sun Sep 7 2025
Dense Fog Advisory is in effect for most of Middle Tennessee to the east and south of Nashville. These are the areas where the rain held in the longest yesterday and cleared out the latest and therefore dried out the least. Several observations from around the area are already showing very low visibilities so it was thought best to go ahead and issue the advisory. It will run until 9 a.m.

.SHORT TERM... (Tonight through Monday Night) Issued at 1045 PM CDT Sat Sep 6 2025
High pressure currently over the northern Plains will drop south and build over the region on Sunday. This will bring great weather to Middle TN. Skies will clear out early Sunday and we will see light winds. This will lead to patchy fog with the best chances south and east of Nashville, some of the fog may be dense. Fog will lift quickly and we will see plenty of sun with highs a bit warmer than Saturday pushing into the mid 70s to lower 80s.
Not a lot of change is expected as we head into Monday as surface high pressure remains set up over the region. Lows Sunday night will be chilly once again falling into the upper 40s to lower 50s. Highs on Monday will be similar to Sunday.

.LONG TERM... (Tuesday through next Sunday) Issued at 1045 PM CDT Sat Sep 6 2025
We are going to see quiet weather as head into the week. High pressure will slowly push off to the east early in the week and will bring return flow Tuesday pushing dry dew points in the 40s and low 50s back into upper 50s to lower 60s. An upper level ridge will amplify to our west and build east mid to late week. This will bring warming temperatures with highs starting out in the upper 70s to lower 80s and warming into the mid 80s to lower 90s by Wednesday. No precip is expected throughout the forecast period.

.AVIATION... (06Z TAFS) Issued at 1229 AM CDT Sun Sep 7 2025
Expect dense radiation fog and low stratus overnight mainly along the Cumberland Plateau. Otherwise, high pressure is building into Middle Tennessee with drier air working its way in, so the remainder of the TAFs are VFR. Winds will increase from the north later this morning.
