WEATHER PATTERN OVERVIEW: Skies are mostly clear this morning with some high clouds moving across northern Nevada. Models are showing a shortwave ridge moving over the area today, but it will be quickly replaced by an upper trough moving north of Nevada. The northernmost sections of Nevada, mainly north of I-80. Moisture and instability will be limited, allowing for isolated storms to develop. Some may be dry. Winds will be breezy with some gusts to 30 to 35 mph. Highs today will be in the 70s and 80s. Isolated showers will continue in northeast Elko county this evening, while the rest of the forecast area will be dry. Overnight lows will be in the 30s and 40s.
The upper trough will quickly exit, allowing for a ridge to build across the area Monday. The ridge will bring fairly quiet weather to the area through the upcoming week. No appreciable weather is expected through roughly Thursday. Highs will be in the 70s Monday, rising into the 70s and 80s on Tuesday and in the 80s by mid-week. Winds are expected to remain light through this upcoming week. Overnight lows will be in the 30s and 40s.
A Pacific storm system is expected to move in during the latter portions of the week. This will bring increasing clouds and chances for light precipitation. Highs will cool into the 70s with lows in the 30s and 40s.
FORECAST CONFIDENCE & DEVIATIONS: No changes were made to the NBM forecast through the period. Confidence remains high most locations will remain dry with warming conditions beginning early in the week.

.AVIATION...VFR conditions will continue over the next 24 hours. Winds will be breezy with gusts to 25 knots through today.

.FIRE WEATHER...A weak upper level low pressure system will move across southern Idaho with light showers (ten to twenty percent) over locations north of I-80 today and Monday. By Tuesday, another ridge will move into the area, bringing dry conditions through the week with warming temperatures. No fire weather issues are anticipated.
