...Afternoon Area Forecast Discussion...

.SHORT TERM... (This afternoon through Wednesday) Issued at 204 PM EDT Tue Sep 16 2025

- No hazardous weather is anticipated through the end of the week.

- Some isolated showers this afternoon across North GA but expect dry weather and partly cloudy skies otherwise.

Current satellite loop shows some fair weather CU developing across the Southeastern U.S along with some mid level clouds and isolated showers moving south out out of TN. These showers are moving into a drier airmass so as they move south they are dissipating. A shower did reach the northern ATL suburbs but dissipated quickly. These showers are from the low pressure system spinning just off the VA/NC coast. This low is pulling moisture around its backside and streaming increased clouds and isolated showers into NE GA. This low center is expected to move N to NW tonight becoming centered over eastern VA Wed afternoon. With this low center moving further northward not expecting any precip chances Wednesday.

Temperatures will remain steady with nearly identical diurnal trends expected Today and Tuesday. Afternoon highs will peak in the mid 80s to near 90 with morning lows in the lower to mid 60s.
