...New AVIATION...

.KEY MESSAGES...

- Dry and warm weather will prevail through the rest of the weekend into next week.

&&

.SHORT TERM... (Today and tonight) Issued at 153 AM CDT Sun Sep 28 2025

The upper ridge will begin to shift eastward. Main effect will be continued dry conditions, and a slight decrease in daytime temperatures of degree or two, as scattered high clouds move in from the west. Highs will be mainly in the upper 80s. Weak surface ridging will continue with mainly light east to southeast winds less than 10 mph. Lows tonight will be mild, in the upper 50s to lower 60s.

&&

.LONG TERM... (Monday through Saturday) Issued at 149 AM CDT Sun Sep 28 2025

Both the GFS and the ECMWF are showing the low pressure system currently over the southwestern U.S. breaking down and moving off to the northeast. This disturbance aloft will finish passing across our area on Tuesday. This will result in clearing skies and a strengthening of high pressure across the region for the middle part of this week. As a result, temperatures will rise back into the lower 90s and dry conditions will continue for the remainder of the work week.
