.DISCUSSION... Issued at 233 PM EDT Thu Sep 11 2025
The warm weather continues with high pressure over the area into Friday. Afternoon highs will largely be in the upper 70s to low 80s with inland areas potentially hitting 90 for the first half of next week. Low temperatures will mostly be in the 50s with some spots dropping into the 40s tonight. Cooler and low lying areas may see some fog develop reducing visibilities in spots through the early morning hours Friday.
Our overall pattern will bring a shortwave trough through the area for Saturday bringing us a chance for showers and maybe a few rumbles of thunder during the day Saturday and potentially lingering into the evening hours. Chances overall haven`t increase with most in the 20-30 percent chance range. This has trended slightly downward from the previous forecast with the recent trends. There is a weakening low level jet that noses into the area along with some warm air advection. NAM solutions are the most aggressive with instability, but others keep it more so to our southwest. The trough axis clears Saturday evening with subsidence under the building ridge moving in for Sunday which will be in place through the first half of next week.
