.DISCUSSION... Issued at 1238 PM CDT Fri Sep 19 2025

Low to medium (20-60%) rain and thunderstorm chances remain in the forecast daily through at least mid next week. Most of the activity will be triggered by the sea breeze tomorrow, but moisture will increase late weekend into early next week, allowing for PoPs to slightly increase. In regards to the previously mentioned shortwave trough and associated boundary around mid-next week, models continue to diverge in regards to its southern extent and timing. Therefore, have continued to cap PoPs at 60% inland until better agreement is reached. Keep in mind uncertainty with this system remains high, and updates to the forecast are foreseen for following forecast packages.

Maximum temperatures will rise by a couple degrees over the weekend into early next week, bringing highs out west to around 100 degrees by Monday. Rain chances and increased cloud coverage could result in slightly cooler temperatures around mid next week, but have not deviated from the NBM just yet, until we get a better picture over the coming days. Overnight lows will generally remain in the 70s.

.AVIATION... (18Z TAFS) Issued at 1238 PM CDT Fri Sep 19 2025

Mostly VFR conditions will prevail through the TAF cycle at area terminals. Another brief period of MVFR visibilities can be expected at VCT early Saturday morning due to patchy fog formation. A few showers and thunderstorms could impact the LRD site this afternoon, which may prompt an amendment to add a mention of this in the TAFs as well as visibility restrictions. But confidence is low (PoPs 20%) enough to be excluded for now. The rest of the sites will generally stay dry. Winds will be around 10-15 knots this afternoon with gusts to around 20 knots, then weakening and becoming light and variable again overnight.

.MARINE... Issued at 1238 PM CDT Fri Sep 19 2025

A gentle to moderate (BF 3-4) east to southeasterly breeze will continue through next week. There will be a low to medium chance (30-60%) of showers and thunderstorms through the weekend and into next week.
