...New AVIATION...

.KEY MESSAGES... Issued at 1230 AM CDT Thu Sep 25 2025

- Areas of fog tonight and early Thursday morning. Locally dense fog possible in northwest AR and far northeast OK.

- Dry weather and slightly cooler temperatures Thursday before warming back to near or slightly above average by this weekend and into next week.

.SHORT TERM... (Through Thursday) Issued at 1230 AM CDT Thu Sep 25 2025

A few lingering showers possible across northwest AR, generally east of I-49 for another hour or two, otherwise a dry forecast overnight with cooler temperatures. Some combination of low clouds and fog can be expected tonight through a portion of far eastern OK and northwest AR with current temp/dew point spreads within a few degrees or less. While at least a low (20-40%) probability of reduction to 1/4 mile vis does exist across mainly northwest AR, the current extent of low stratus lends enough uncertainty to preclude an advisory at this time. Expect patchy fog to eventually develop over much of eastern OK later tonight as well with much lower potential for significant reductions.

Aside from morning fog, expect a dry day with temperatures a few degrees warmer, owing to increase in sun. Dew points in the upper 50s and lower 60s will make for a comfortable afternoon.

&&

.LONG TERM... (Thursday night through Wednesday) Issued at 1230 AM CDT Thu Sep 25 2025

Prolonged stretch of quiet weather is expected through the weekend and continuing to at least the middle of next week as we remain under the ridge withing a blocking pattern for several days. Temperatures will gradually warm into the weekend, with daytime highs at least returning to above normal. At this time Saturday and Sunday appear to be the warmest afternoons, with some spots along and west of Highway 75 in eastern OK reaching upper 80s.

&&

.AVIATION... (12Z TAFS) Issued at 535 AM CDT Thu Sep 25 2025

Swath of low ceilings will impact the western AR terminals through mid morning. Periodic patchy dense fog is also ongoing with the lower visibilities more likely across the E OK terminals through mid morning. Improving conditions with VFR area wide by late morning to early afternoon. Light winds and clear skies likely leads to patch fog again tonight with highest confidence across far NW AR terminals.
