Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Fort Worth TX 1227 PM CDT Sat Sep 27 2025

...New Short Term, Long Term, Aviation...

.KEY MESSAGES...

- Quiet weather is expected through next week with mostly clear skies, cool nights, and slightly above normal afternoon highs.

&&

.SHORT TERM... /NEW/ /Today through Sunday Afternoon/

A tranquil weekend is expected as the region remains under the influence of an upper level ridge. High-level cirrus will continue to spread E-NE from Mexico, riding the apex of the ridge. Afternoon highs today and tomorrow will remain near to slightly above climatological normal, peaking in the mid 80s to low 90s. Overnight lows will drop into the upper 50s to mid 60s.

.LONG TERM... /NEW/ /Sunday Evening Onward/

The weather pattern will remain uneventful through the rest of the forecast period. Upper-level ridging will continue to be planted overtop the region until Tuesday, when a shortwave swings across the region. Unfortunately, no rain will accompany this shortwave as the low- and mid-levels will remain quite dry. All we`ll see will be some increased high cloud cover Monday into Tuesday as upper-level moisture ahead of the shortwave is pushed east. The low will advance to our south, with ridging building in its wake. Mostly sunny, dry, and slightly above normal conditions will persist through the rest of the week with highs in the 80s and 90s.

.AVIATION... /NEW/ /18Z TAFs/

VFR and high cirrus will prevail at all TAF sites over the next 24- 30 hours. D10 winds will settle out of the east within the next hour or so, but will wobble back and forth across the 90 degree line (roughly between 060-140) during the TAF period with speeds generally at 7 kts or less. ACT will trend more or less the same, wobbling roughly between 060 and 120 degrees over the next 24 hours.
